Goepper & Dalbello shine at the Dew Tour Championships!

February 12, 2012; Snow Basin, Utah _ Dalbello Team Member, Nick Goepper, completed his rise to the top today by dominating the field to win the Slopestyle competition at the final stop of The Winter Dew Tour at Snow Basin, Utah. Nickʼs smooth style and uncanny ability to hold his tricks until the last second left no doubt in the minds of the judges, NBC TV commentators and thousands of cheering spectators of who the deserving winner was.
Nick's road to the top was paved with technical rails and massive jumps, as he completed the Dew Tour podium cycle for the season (a first, second and third, this year). He started with a 450 on 270 off on the first feature, followed by a front swap backside 450 out, and a switch 270 onto the cannon box with a rodeo 450 out. He continued into the jumps with a switch left side double 1080 on the first jump and a huge switch right side double 1440 on the second. In the end no one elseʼs score was even close. "I'm excited,” said Goepper. I've been so close all season and to finally get on top feels incredible."
It was just as easy to note who wasnʼt in Dalbello, as those who were, considering that six of the twelve finalists were rocking the infamous IL Moro T. Fellow Dalbello Team athlete, Chris Laker, finished just off the podium in fourth. He was followed by Dalbello athlete Russ Henshaw and Alex Bellemare earning Dalbello four of the top six results.
On the womenʼs side, Dalbello skier, Devin Logan, continued her dominant season in halfpipe by winning the
event as well as the coveted Dew Cup (overall Tour winner).

Dalbello Team Member, Nick Goepper, takes Silver at the Winter X Games Slopestyle Final

January 27th, 2012 Aspen, Colorado After qualifying in 1st place Nick Goepper held
off all but one to take the Silver Medal in Slopestyle at the 2012 Winter X Games in
Aspen. Nickʼs flawless style and ability to hold his tricks until the last second was on full display in front of throngs of spectators and millions of TV viewers. It took the highest scoring run in Slopestyle completion history to beat him.
Nickʼs run was flawless: A switch 270 on, 270 off the closeout rail, then he sped into a 450 off the rail to gap. Goepper's first of four doubles started off with a switch double flip 900 japan. He then moved into a leftside double cork 1260 into a switch double cork 1260. His "money booter" jump was a double cork 1260 mute to Japan.
The youngest skier on the Slopestyle roster (17), Nick got his start skiing on the Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This Midwest ripper has ascended the skiing slopestyle ranks quickly. He won the Dumont Cup in 2011 and recently placed 2nd at the Dec. 2011 Dew Tour event in Breckenridge and 3rd at the Killington Dew Tour event.
CONGRATULATIONS NICK!

POWDER AWARDS 2012

January 26th 2012 – Aspen Colorado Dalbello Team member Sean Pettit added to his collection of awards and accolades last night by winning the Powder Video Awardʼs
“Best Male Performance” award for his segment in Matchstick Productions Revenge
of La Nina. The award is skiingʼs version of the Oscar and was Seanʼs 2nd. Pretty
amazing considering he is only 19! Seanʼs ability to blend jaw dropping lines with
new school style is his technical prowess. However, what shines through just as much
is the amount of fun that he is clearly having while he shreds the mountain.
Nice job SEAN!

Nick Goepper takes 2nd at the Breckenridge Dew Tour event

Breckenridge, Colorado - Following up on his King of Style North American video contest win, Dalbello team member, Nick Goepper, skied his way into 2nd place at the first stop on The Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Nick made a name for himself last season when he placed 3rd at the Dew Tour stop in Killington and followed up with a win at the Dumont Cup. Having worked hard since then to elevate his riding, many eyes were on Goepper today to see how he'd progressed. They were not disappointed…
Goepper opened up with a switch 270 on, 270 off on the down rail up top and sent a rodeo 450 disaster onto the next down-flat-down feature. He threw a switch right-side double 9 on the first jump and followed up with a double cork 10 mute. Goepper sent a lofty 810 off the up-rail at
the mid-course rail station and capped off his run with a switch double 9 and a double cork 1260. Goepper was tech, grabbed well on all his airs and landed soundly time and again.
Dalbello team member, Russ Henshaw, took 5th which was an especially amazing feat considering he has only recently begun skiing again after season ending knee surgery last spring.

Congrats to Nick and Russ!

Torsby, or in my suitcase somewhere out there

Who are you?
I am a lively 19 year old girl, who has been skiing since I started to walk. Every day Iʼm
thinking a lot about skiing, even if itʼs in the middle of the summer and it has been like that for a long time. My dad was a ski instructor as a youth so it was natural for me to slip
my way into skiing, as the rest of my family are also skiers. I have always been involved with a lot of different kinds of sports. However it was not until I was going to start high school that I finally decided what sport I was aiming for. After having studied three years at a high school with special focus on freeride skiing, I graduated this spring. Without that school I would probably not be where I am today, as we got the opportunity to ski three days a week during the whole winter. Now that Iʼm done with my studies I will be able to put all my focus into my skiing and it feels great to try to be a part of the freestyle world for real!

Accomplishments:
1st place European Open 2011
3rd tied Nine Queens Big Air 2011
4th place Austrian Open 2011
6th place Dew Tour Breckenridge 2010
1st place The North Face Ski Challenge 2010

You are pretty young and you are already travelling a lot, how is life for you??
Life is great and I couldnʼt be happier to have gotten this chance this young. Most of the
time I love to travel around seeing new places, skiing new mountains, meeting new people
and experience different cultures all over the world. But at the same time I sometimes feel
that living in a suitcase can be a little hard - when all your clothes are dirty and the shower
isnʼt working properly. So it feels great when I get home and I get to meet my family, dogs
and friends, and of course, sleep in my own bed. But as I said, I canʼt be happier for this
chance and I can really say that Iʼm living my dream. The schedule before this winter is
including more places that I ever had dreamed to visit, and Iʼm really stoked for the
upcoming winter!

What is skiing for you?
I would say that skiing is my life, and it has been for a very, very long time. I donʼt
remember this, but when I was a little girl, one summer my grandmother found me painting
leaves of a tree white and I did it just because I wanted winter to come. For me skiing is a
feeling of great freedom and I love the thrill of going fast and hunting the adrenaline kicks.
It makes me feel very alive, and I canʼt be happier than when Iʼm skiing!

What is the difference between alpine racing and freeski competitions?
I was alpine racing until I was 8 years old before I found out that it was way more fun to ski
around off trail in my home resort, Hovfjället. At this time I wasnʼt going big, but it didnʼt
take long before I was stuck with just playing around rather then doing racing stuff. So for
me the difference was that freeride skiing offers so much more. As you can use the whole
mountain and just have fun and feel free, instead of just go down between poles in a
serious mode. It was a better way for me to push my limits in my skiing without any
pressure.
When you are not skiing what are you doing?
When Iʼm not somewhere out in the slopes I like to sit down and play guitar, glide around
on my skateboard, do some exercise at the gym, jump trampoline, hang around with
friends or play around with my dogs.

You are really pushing the female freestyle scene, how is to ski at such a high
level?
As an adrenaline junkie as I am, trying to find the rush through my skiing, it feels great to
try new tricks and keep the level up. It is always an incredible rush to improve your riding
when you learn something new, and if it’s also pushing the female freestyling, itʼs just an
extra bonus! Sometimes I feel that itʼs hard to find the motivation to do tricks that are
difficult for me. But a good thing is that itʼs easy to get the motivation back. I can just go
out and do some runs messing around on the skis, and then I got my motivation back! –
Because my skiing is my motivation.

How much of your personality is in your skiing?
When Iʼm skiing I smile most of the time because itʼs what I love to do. So like I said, Iʼm
never happier than when Iʼm on my skis, and I would say that my personality is shown very
well through my skiing as I have been doing it my entire life. Without skiing I would
definitely not be the person that I am today.

What will be the natural progression of female skiing?
I think and hope that the sport among females will improve radically in the next few years.
There are so many young girls coming up out there and with an Olympics coming up in
two years, I think there will be a lot of progression. 2 girls have already made switch
1080ʼs for the first time and that was just last year. In the next couple of years I think that
weʼll see more and more technical tricks. Who knows which girl will be to throw the first
double on a big competition? I think itʼs just a matter of time, and I will make sure to be a
part of the progression!

What are your projects for this season?
This season I will put a lot of focus in to competitions and progressing my riding. I hope to
be able to participate in the biggest competitions out there, and if I get the chance, I will go
all in for it!
Another project for this winter is that Iʼm going to start and run a video episode/blog with
Maria Bagge and the Norwegian girl Nina Rusten. It will be named Shred Oʼrama and will
follow us girls during the winter on different events and locations! For more information, go

Interview to Paddy Graham the UK Pro Skier

DOB and Where: 15/1/88 Sheffield, UK

Sponsors: Dalbello, Völkl, Red Bull, Oakley, Leki, Giro, Marker, Animal
Lives In: Innsbruck, Austria

Who are you?
Pro skier from the 'Steel City' that is Sheffield, UK, I learned to ski on dry slope and now live in Innsbruck.

Accomplishments:
Best Trick Red Bull Line Catcher ‘10
1st Battle of Britain ’09 ‘10
7th London Freeze ‘10
2nd London Ride ‘10
2nd European Open Qualifier ‘08
1st Red Bull Tribal Quest ‘08
2nd Austrian Open '07

What inspires you?
My friends inspire me the most when I'm skiing, you can't beat a day skiing with your friends, everyone pushing each other. Also the fact I don't spend 9-5 in an office every day but get to ski in the beautiful mountains to do my job.

Coming from a land without mountains, what does this mean for you?
I've been given a great opportunity to be able to ski as my career, the mountains are amazing and I wouldn't have it any other way to I hope I can return the favor by representing the country at the Olympics in 2014.

What is skiing for you?
Skiing is about having fun and having a good time, nature provides us with the greatest reward of all and the way you ski snow is a great way to express yourself.

What difference is there between alpine racing and freeski competitions?
Well I've never competed in Alpine racing but it seems to me to be more a more competitive and goal driven career, not to say freeskiing isn't goal driven but it's not all about GOLD!

To reach your level how much is mental and how much is physical?
I'd say they come out on par. You have to be fit and strong to survive the season, stomp cliffs, big jumps and so on, mentally you have to be driven to succeed and not let an under performance or injury be the end of things.

Do you have some special secret about your equipment or setup that you have learned during your career?
I'd say surrounding yourself with good company, you won't get anywhere without your friends... on the other side there is rock music!

What will be the natural progression of skiing?
Skiing will be around much longer than you or I if the environment can provide that is... I think there's always room for progression within reason, I'd like to see style become more influential within all aspects.

How much of your personality is in your skiing?
I'm not exactly sure how your personality can be seen through your skiing, it defiantly influences your style and choice of terrain but maybe it just ends up being the clothes you wear...

You came back from an injury, how is it to come back? And what about the moments when you are down?
It is tough to beat an injury, what drives you through your rehab is literally your craving to be back on snow doing the one thing you love, skiing. The start is easy, you're injured, you're out - then comes the hard part at the start of rehab, you've lost all your strength and feel like you'll never be able to ski again, once you power through that you have one sight set, ready to be back on skis. The end of recovery is great but cannot be rushed, you end up fitter and stronger than ever!

Talk about the LOS. It’s a project done by you and your friends and it is great.
It's a project conceived with friendship, rock and roll, fun and skiing. We stick together and stay true to our word!

What are your projects for this season?
LOS is going to be back, bigger and better than before. I have a few ideas for training for the Olympics which revolve around skiing powder, maybe no what first comes to mind when you think of those multi-coloured rings but I'll keep you updated!

Last words:
Thanks to DALBELLO for keeping my feet warm and snug and giving me all the strength I need to transfer all the power from my 'Legs Of Steel' into my skis!
