New record: 24 hours ski challenge

Spanish skiiers establish new record of vertical skiing in 24 hours uninterrupted.

Despite the spring snow conditions Luis Alberto Hernando and his partner Sergio Lamas broke last years vertical ski record in 24 hours, achieved by Hernando himself, in Astún. The six-time Trail Running world champion and Civil Guard GREIM agent Luis Alberto Hernando and his partner established a new record of vertical skiing in 24 hours uninterrupted. Both men skied the impressive figure of 86,565 meters each and managed to improve the previous record by more than 5000 meters. After tiresome 24 hours of skiing Hernando said: „We are very happy because we did not have anything clear that we could do it, given the spring snow conditions due to the anticyclone.“ What an impressive record!
